General Information

Airports

The closest international airports are Milan (MXP), about a 2-hour drive, and Turin (TRN), about a 1-hour drive to Monforte d'Alba.

Car Rental & Toll (Maut)

We recommend renting a car. Piedmont is a rural wine region, and having your own car makes traveling much more comfortable. There is very little traffic in general.

Driving in hill towns: be mindful of ZTL (Limited Traffic Zones) in the centers of Alba and Barolo, and plan to park just outside the historic areas.

Standard toll roads: Cards or cash are accepted. Avoid the yellow “Telepass” lanes, which are reserved for subscribers with a special device.

Free Flow: These are highways in Italy where you need to pay afterwards. All require that you pay online within 15 days.

Taxis / Bus

Availability is limited outside the main cities. Buses run only between larger towns, so please do not rely on public transport for reaching the venue.

Payments

Credit cards (Mastercard/Visa) are widley accepted, though some smaller places may prefer cash. AMEX is less often accepted.

Weather

Expect hot summer days in late august, usually around 25–35°C, with cooler evenings and a light breeze during the day.

Choose light cloths like silk or linen, checkout our dress code for each event.
